Watch Addicted To Fame No Survey or Paying

"ADDICTED TO FAME" is the hilarious, outrageous, and ultimately tragic true story of one filmmaker's journey from obscurity to moral blindness in the seductive glare of the media spotlight. Director DAVID GIANCOLA wanted to break out by making a "Movie that mocked B-Movies". He thought he could manipulate the media by casting ANNA NICOLE SMITH. In the end the media manipulated him instead as his star and one of his Producers died in a media feeding frenzy. The film bombed but the story was the most reported event of 2007 - behind only coverage of the Iraq war. The truth is always stranger and more unbelievable than fiction...

New Trailer For Addicted To Fame

Review For Addicted To Fame

"Addicted" proves a strangely sad yet wildly compelling cautionary tale.
Gary Goldstein-Los Angeles Times

A valuable reflection of contemporary celebrity culture - simply because it shows us how low we've fallen.
Elizabeth Weitzman-New York Daily News

Entertaining if ultimately depressing.
Dennis Harvey-Variety

Behind-the-scenes look at Anna Nicole Smith's swan song is barely more competent than the exploitation flick it examines.
John DeFore-Hollywood Reporter

[A] hapless, clueless, necrophiliac documentary ...
Lisa Schwarzbaum-Entertainment Weekly

Cheap-o, disingenuous ...
Alan Scherstuhl-Village Voice

So how much are attention addicts Giancola and Anna Nicole Smith alike as they weirdly bond away in his movie? Giancola was shrewd enough to foolproof his film with deliberate self-parody, while Smith succumbed to her own self-dehumanization.
Prairie Miller-Long Island Press

Addicted to Fame is like a feature-length whine disguised as a documentary.
Ethan Alter-Television Without Pity

The pitfalls of not knowing the difference between "notoriety" and "fame" were never clearer.
Roger Moore-McClatchy-Tribune News Service

Judging by the film's alternately self-pitying, self-aggrandizing, and bitter tone, the schlock director is afflicted with a bizarre lack of self-consciousness to rival Smith's own impregnable wall of self-delusion.
Nathan Rabin-AV Club

The cinematic equivalent of staging a disaster and then bitching about the mess.
Nick McCarthy-Slant Magazine

New Trailer For Storage 24

Review For Storage 24

A London self-storage facility provides an appropriately eerie location for Storage 24, an amiably routine genre pic that combines sci-fi and horror elements.
Charles Gant-Variety

This low-budget Alien knock-off set in a London self-storage facility inspires more claustrophobia than chills.
Frank Scheck-Hollywood Reporter

Derivative and dorky, Storage 24 still entertains more often than it exasperates.
Jeannette Catsoulis-NPR

A monster from a familiar mother.
Nick Schager-Village Voice

Feels like the germ of an idea with stuff lifted from 'Alien' et al and bolted on.
Nigel Floyd-Time Out

completely works for what it is, and its low-budget nature keeps things grounded
Kevin Carr-7M Pictures

The headache you'll get from the first half of the flick is not worth the meager thrills you'll get from the second.
Scott Weinberg-FEARnet

Certainly an acceptable matinee distraction and an effective creature feature, at least in rare moments where the monster actually resembles a monster and not a PS3 glitch.
Brian Orndorf-Blu-ray.com

More chilling than the horror of the alien's close-quarters assault is the rank misogyny that more than offensively underscores the Melrose Place-grade human drama.
Ed Gonzalez-Slant Magazine

While sluggishly starting in a fashion horror/sci-fi fans are all too familiar with, Storage 24 takes an unexpected turn for the awesome with bouts of ooey-gooey creature horror - but still leaves us wanting a tad more.
Matt Donato-We Got This Covered

B-movie fodder ideal for low-expectation late evening TV viewing.
James O'Ehley-Sci-Fi Movie Page

Literally feels like it's 24 hours long.
Graham Young-Birmingham Post

An Open Letter to Young British Filmmakers...
Ed Whitfield-The Ooh Tray

The film is, as Clarke's hooded Kidulthood character might say, 'well gash, innit'.
Shaun Munro-What Culture

[C]ross[es] the line into misogy-wah! territory, and conflate[s] an attack by an alien monster with an attack by mean ol' b*tches on innocent men who didn't do nothin' to deserve it.
MaryAnn Johanson-Flick Filosopher

Makes the most of a simple premise and single location setting, the cast are uniformly good, and the impressive creature delivers nastily effective splatter chaos.
Alan Jones-Radio Times

With Johannes Roberts directing, this apocalyptic piece of cheaply made science fiction wends its way through an absurd plot with some energy.
-This is London

Storage 24 is destined to be packed into a cardboard box and forgotten about by everyone.
Grant Rollings-Sun Online

Never quite scary enough to be a horror, nowhere near funny enough to be a comedy and not exciting enough to be an action movie, but stitches all three elements together into a satisfying whole.
Jordan Farley-SFX Magazine

Storage 24 is solid, entertaining but unremarkable genre fare, littered with two-dimensional characters and predictable twists.
-Liverpool Echo

British sci-fi thriller is a shocker (and that's just the acting)

New Trailer For Generation Um...

Review For Generation Um...

Neither the film, nor the film within the film, hold our attention. Bummer, Keanu.
Amy Nicholson-Los Angeles Times

Director Mark L. Mann seems to be searching for the meaning in aimlessness, and in lowered expectations. But too often the narrative left me feeling the titular "um."
Sara Stewart-New York Post

Meandering and affected, this tedious character study is as aimless as the lives it depicts.
Frank Scheck-Hollywood Reporter

A slapped-together sub-mumblecore exercise that at times suggests a feature-length expansion of 2010′s "Sad Keanu" meme
Justin Chang-Variety

What does it add up to? Um ... I have no idea and don't really care.
Stephen Holden-New York Times

"Um" winds up as empty as its mean streets are phony.
Joe Neumaier-New York Daily News

While Reeves brings more depth to his character than the script warrants, the film overall lacks compelling characters and winds up depressing instead of profound.
Todd Jorgenson-Cinemalogue.com

A single, plotless day in New York in the company of Keanu Reeves feels like a life sentence.
David Noh-Film Journal International

The point of the movie seems to be: like, inarticulation, or something?
Christopher Null-Film Racket

It's a patience-tester, salvaged only a smidge by Reeves's uncanny ability to remain perfectly still while his co-stars strap on acting school rocket packs and pinball around the frame.
Brian Orndorf-Blu-ray.com

The levels of insight provided into the characters are exactly commensurate with any conceivable viewer's interest in learning more about these nonentities.
Andrew Schenker-Slant Magazine

a bafflingly irreverent, meandering character study that resurrects Reeves' trademark inscrutable delivery, providing the actor with his most characteristic performance in years. But that's not quite enough to salvage the movie.
Eric Kohn-indieWIRE

Despite strong performances from Keanu Reeves, Bojana Novakovic and Adelaide Clemens, Generation Um... doesn't give us enough of a story to keep us fully invested throughout its running time.

Watch Stories We Tell No Survey or Paying

In this inspired, genre-twisting new film, Oscar (R)-nominated writer/director Sarah Polley discovers that the truth depends on who's telling it. Polley is both filmmaker and detective as she investigates the secrets kept by a family of storytellers. She playfully interviews and interrogates a cast of characters of varying reliability, eliciting refreshingly candid, yet mostly contradictory, answers to the same questions. As each relates their version of the family mythology, present-day recollections shift into nostalgia-tinged glimpses of their mother, who departed too soon, leaving a trail of unanswered questions. Polley unravels the paradoxes to reveal the essence of family: always complicated, warmly messy and fiercely loving. Stories We Tell explores the elusive nature of truth and memory, but at its core is a deeply personal film about how our narratives shape and define us as individuals and families, all interconnecting to paint a profound, funny and poignant picture of the larger human story. New Trailer For Stories We Tell

Review For Stories We Tell

Everyone has a different story. I found myself holding my breath listening to them talk. The story twists like a thriller.
Cath Clarke-Time Out

Stories We Tell is not just very moving; it is an exploration of truth and fiction that will stay with you long after repeated viewings.
David Thomson-The New Republic

Part of the movie's pleasure is how comfortable the "storytellers" are with their director; you get a sense of a complicated but tight-knit family, going along with Sarah's project because they love her.
Moira MacDonald-Seattle Times

What a great movie.
Bill Goodykoontz-Arizona Republic

Never sentimental, never cold and never completely sure of anything, Polley comes across as a woman caught in wonder.
Tom Long-Detroit News

After you see it, you'll be practically exploding with questions - and with awe.
Steven Rea-Philadelphia Inquirer

Polley is savvy, using her talent as a director -- as a storyteller -- to give it universal appeal even though it's a very specific account.
Eric D. Snider-About.com

Perhaps the most organic, transformative meeting of form and function I've seen this year.
Charlie Lyne-Ultra Culture

Stories We Tell is cinema cutting to the profound truth of why we use narrative to make sense of the world.
Blake Howard-2UE That Movie Show

For the most part, Polley's thoughts and feelings are pretty much absent, but the film makes some nice observations about memory and how it affects - yup - the stories we tell.
Stephen Carty-Flix Capacitor

The movie isn't really about the Polley family: It's about memory, and loss, and forgiveness, and, through it all, hope. It'll knock you over.
Will Leitch-Deadspin

What emerges is a fascinating and illuminating story, one that runs the gamut from intense joy to deep sadness and features a couple of surprising twists that take proceedings off in strange and unusual directions.
Alistair Harkness-Scotsman

An honest and authentic documentary that powerfully explores the filmmaker's own family.
John Hanlon-John Hanlon Reviews

Polley's portrait of modern family life is a playfully profound discussion of narrative forms - the way in which we each construct our own reality through stories, part truth, part invention.
Mark Kermode-Observer [UK]

A decent piece of work, but too fussy for its own good.
Donald Clarke-Irish Times

Polley approaches every character with compassion, intent upon blessing them, and serving the audience with useful questions about how we seek the truth.
Jeffrey Overstreet-Response

Polley is working in the tradition of Orson Welles, but her trickery can be exasperating; it also neutralises many of the emotional revelations.
Ryan Gilbey-New Statesman

With Away From Her and Take This Waltz, actress-turned-filmmaker Polley has proved herself as an unusually gifted director, but this inventive, moving documentary reveals even more artistic ambition.
Rich Cline-Contactmusic.com

What saves it is our realisation that it isn't just a documentary.
David Sexton-This is London

A bittersweet and compelling autobiographical family portrait.
Adam Woodward-Little White Lies

Kane-like in its mirrored complexity, flashing in its mischievous irony, the story is a shiny maze which Polley enters knowing exactly where and what her Minotaur is - the secret of her paternal parentage - while spinning for us a thread to follow.
Nigel Andrews-Financial Times

Polley ... smilingly tells us that a story like hers can never truly be tied down, even as she screws every last piece into place.
Robbie Collin-Daily Telegraph

Polley's cine-tribute is a gripping and absorbing meditation on the unknowability of other lives.
Peter Bradshaw-Guardian [UK]

The films greatest achievement is in how deeply mesmerising one woman's story can be, regardless of whether she's famous or not.
Jamie Neish-HeyUGuys

Honestly, it's one of the best things you'll see this year.
Siobhan Synnot-Scotsman

With four interwoven tales concerning a high-school principal who moonlights as a vicious serial killer, a college-age virgin who's saving herself for that special someone, a woman whose hatred of Halloween is only exceeded by her husband's love of the mischievous holiday, and a callous group of teens who carry out an unforgivably cruel prank, this fall frightener mixes Tarantino-style storytelling with the kind of chills that can only occur on the darkest day of the year. Brian Cox, Anna Paquin, Dylan Baker, and Leslie Bibb all star in a Halloween treat that's sure to deliver a few nasty tricks. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

New Trailer For Trick 'r Treat

Review For Trick 'r Treat

This slick and twisted effort should enjoy lengthy shelf life as a Halloween perennial.
Joe Leydon-Variety

Full of atmosphere, jack-o-lanterns, fun facts and yes, plenty of blood... exactly the film horror aficionados hope to see in theaters every October.
Kevin A. Ranson-MovieCrypt.com

It's not a smart movie.
Walter Chaw-Film Freak Central

This movie loves Halloween so much you can almost taste the candy corn.
Rob Gonsalves-eFilmCritic.com

has genuine holiday spirit
Jesse Hassenger-Filmcritic.com

What keeps "Trick" from attaining its lofty "Creepshow" aspirations is the lack of conflict and resolution.
Edward Havens-FilmJerk.com

Michael Dougherty's directorial debut is one treat that deserves not to be spoiled before it's opened.
Todd Gilchrist-Sci Fi Wire

The only shock is how Brian Cox and Anna Paquin ended up in something so atrocious. In trying to span so many genres, the film fails to hit the mark with any of them.
-Independent

Just as it would be alongside a fire, the spooky power of the myths and legends being spun is all in the style of the storyteller. This delivers the nasty goods with fluid grace and demented glee and is bound to become Halloween appointment viewing.
Nick Rogers-Suite101.com

Trick 'r Treat sequals
Larry Carroll-E! Online

Trick 'r Treat is a really good film. In fact, it's so unusual in its practical F/X approach and retro direct to video charms that a second viewing is definitely needed before confirming its almost masterpiece status.
Bill Gibron-PopMatters

If you can think of a better American horror anthology than this one, I owe you some Halloween candy. (OK, the first Creepshow, but that's about it.)
Scott Weinberg-FEARnet

Feels not just like a series of stories set on Halloween, but a blood-spattered portrait of what makes this holiday so beloved, so dangerous, and so much damn fun.
Brian Juergens-CampBlood.org

It's a greatest hits collection of old fashioned monsters and gruesome new age beasts all set to the tone of Hallow's Eve...
Felix Vasquez Jr.-Cinema Crazed

Instead of participating in the yearly nonsense of Saw, give Trick 'r Treat a spin instead. It's one of the best horror films of the year and a perfect addition to the holiday.
Brian Orndorf-BrianOrndorf.com

Dougherty interweaves the different strands of his narrative with a healthy disinterest in the norms of chronology, and so introduces just the right amount of jigsaw-like tricksiness to keep his penny-dreadful treat smelling fresh
Anton Bitel-Little White Lies

TRICK 'R TREAT a trip back to the 80's when the goal was to excite and entertain, not torment you... it's the type of movie you can bring anyone to, whether it's a date or your kid.
Brad Miska-Bloody Disgusting

One of the most handsome, lushly detailed horror features in years. Trick 'r Treat is destined to put the most sour of souls in the Halloween spirit.
Dustin Putman-DustinPutman.com

Trick 'r Treat ranks alongside John Carpenter's Halloween as traditional October viewing and I can't imagine a single horror fan that won't fall head over heels in love with it.
Steve "Uncle Creepy" Barton-Dread Central

...one of the best genre films of the past few years!
